How to make the Jello Shot Christmas Tree

  1. Place the jello and the boiling water in a medium or large mixing bowl. Stir until the jello is dissolved.
  2. Add the vodka and stir again.
  3. Pour 2 ounces of the jello into a separate glass or small bowl. Add the drop of brown dye and stir. Add more brown dye if needed, but one drop should be plenty.
  4. Pour the brown jello into one of the jello shot cups.
  5. Fill the rest of the 19 cups with the green jello.
  6. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours or until set.

The second line will have one cup, the third line will have two cups, the fourth line will have three cups, lines five through seven will have four cups each, and the last line will be the one brown cup that goes in the bottom middle.
  8. Place the star sprinkles in the top first cup, then sprinkle five random green cups with the red sanding sugar to signify ornaments on the tree.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

How to Store the Jello Shots

These must be stored in the fridge until ready to use them. Don’t garnish them until you are ready.

Recipe Tips and Advice

  • Do not garnish if storing in the fridge. Only garnish when ready to serve.
  • If you want to make these ahead of time, you’ll want to place the lids on them and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Do not freeze them.
  • Do not fill these to the top if you are planning on storing them in the fridge. The lid will make little divots in the top of the jello, which will make it look bad.

Can I make this at any other time of the year?

The principle of this recipe can be repurposed for other gatherings and occasions. For example, you can use different flavored jello mixes, colors, and vodka flavors. You can also present the shots in different ways and shapes, such as hearts.
