German Pancake Recipe

Also known as Dutch Baby pancakes these are a type of baked pancake made from eggs, milk, flour, and vanilla, which will rise while in the oven.

The result is a puffed pancake that is light and fluffy. Serve it with fresh berries, powdered sugar, or syrup.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter, sliced
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

How to Make German Pancakes:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Place the butter slices in a 9×13 casserole dish and let them melt in the oven.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt and whisk until combined.

Tip: You can also add the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth!

  • Pour the batter into the dish over the melted butter.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until the edges are puffy and golden brown.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with syrup and fruit if desired.
