Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish Hearts Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon cocoa Powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/8 cup flour
- 1 cup strawberries
- 17.3-ounce package puff pastry
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
How to Make Mini Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish Hearts:
1. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. And preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, and cocoa until light and fluffy.
3. Flour the work surface and unfold the puff pastry. Using your fingertips, gently seal the creased lines; use a rolling pin carefully, if necessary.
4. Use a 3” cookie cutter to cut out 9 hearts. Repeat with the remaining sheet of puff pastry. Place the hearts onto the baking sheet.
5. Using a sharp knife, gently score a heart shape about ¼ inch inside each puff pastry heart.
6. Using a fork, poke inside each of the hearts twice.
7. In a small bowl, mix together egg and water until combined. Then brush the border of each heart with the egg mixture.
8. Bake for 10 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven. Using a fork, poke the inside heart around the border.
10. Spread cream cheese mixture into each heart, keeping it inside the border (Use a piping bag for less mess.)
11. Place some diced strawberries onto each pastry.
12. Bake for 4 minutes or until golden brown.
13. Allow to cool on the pan for 5 minutes Then melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over the danishes.
14. Serve and enjoy!
