1. Set out pretzel squares on the baking sheet in rows. Then, unwrap one hug per pretzel square. Place one on each of the pretzel squares. Then pop them in the oven for only a few minutes.

2. After you remove them from the oven, place a candy conversation heart on top of each hug.

3. Patiently wait until they cool. Place them in the fridge or freezer if you’re in a hurry, then enjoy!

  • Use dark chocolate instead of Hershey’s Hugs for a richer flavor
  • Add sprinkles on top for extra color and texture.

How to Serve

Colorful, delicious, and perfect as an edible gift to friends and neighbors or to take to a classroom party for your kids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use regular-shaped pretzels instead of square ones?

Yes, you can! Just keep in mind that the chocolate and candy may not stay on as well with round or twisted pretzels. You may need to press down gently on the toppings after removing them from the oven.

How long do these Valentine’s Day pretzels stay fresh?

They can last up to a week when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. However, they are best enjoyed within the first few days.

Can I use other types of chocolate instead of Hershey’s Hugs?

Absolutely! You can use any type of chocolate, or candy melts that you prefer. Just make sure to adjust the baking time accordingly, as different types of chocolate may melt at different rates.
