Easiest Ever Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake

As much as I love dessert, there are times when I appreciate a recipe this easy. And with some tins of cherry pie filling you don’t even have to wait until fresh cherries are in season, so you can enjoy this black forest dump cake recipe all year round!

This chocolate cherry dump cake is possibly one of the easiest dessert recipes that you will ever make! This delicious, no-fuss, simple, and flavorful dump cake is delicious on its own or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients:

Ingredients
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 2 (21 oz) cans of cherry pie filling
  • 1 stick of butter

How to make Crockpot Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake:

  • Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix over the pie filling.

  • Add the butter to a small bowl and heat in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, until melted.
  • Pour evenly over the cake mix.

  • Cook on high for 2 hours.

  • Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes & Tips:

  • You could easily switch it up by changing the fruit filling, the cake flavor, or even both! Try pie fillings like blackberry or strawberry. Try cake mixes such as Devil’s food cake mix or a vanilla cake mix. 
  • Line the crockpot with a crock pot liner for easier cleanup.
  • You can also make this in the oven instead. Follow the same instructions, but use a 9×13-inch baking dish instead. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

How to Serve

Serve while still hot with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.
