Separate your Skittles by color. You’ll only want one color per jar—trust me, mixing them all results in a murky color that’s less than appealing.

Add the Skittles. Place ½ cup of one Skittles color into a 16-ounce mason jar.

Pour in the vodka. Fill the jar with 16 ounces of your chosen vodka.

Seal and shake. Close the lid tightly and give the jar a good shake to get things going.

Infuse. Place the jar in the fridge for 5 days. Flip it upside down on day 3, then back right-side-up on day 4.

Strain. After 5 days, strain the vodka through cheesecloth to remove any candy residue.

Serve and enjoy! Serve chilled as a shot or mix into your favorite fruity cocktails. These are fun to serve in shot glasses or small jars at birthday parties, BBQs, or as a colorful addition to your home bar.

Serving Suggestions

Skittles Vodka is fun, colorful, and perfect for showing off at parties! Here are some fun ways to serve and enjoy it:

  • As Shots: Pour each color into separate shot glasses for a vibrant rainbow-themed lineup. They’re a hit at parties and look amazing on a serving tray!
  • In Cocktails: Mix your Skittles Vodka with lemon-lime soda, club soda, or tonic water for a sweet mixed drink. Each color gives a different flavor twist!
  • Over Ice: Want to sip and savor? Pour your favorite flavor over ice for a chilled, candy-sweet cocktail moment.
  • Skittles Punch: Combine one color of Skittles Vodka with fruit juice (like orange, cranberry, or pineapple) and soda for a big-batch party punch everyone will love.

No matter how you serve it, Skittles Vodka adds a pop of color and a burst of fruity sweetness that’s sure to get the party started!

Tips for Success

  • Use quality vodka for the best taste—cheap vodka can ruin the flavor.
  • Don’t mix colors: Stick to one color per jar unless you want a brownish result.
  • Adjust candy amounts to taste—more Skittles = stronger flavor.
  • Shake before using to redistribute the flavor.
  • Storage: Keep sealed and refrigerated for up to 1 month.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Additional Time: 5 days
Total Time: 5 days 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 16 Ounces Vodka per jar
  • ½ Cup Skittles per color, only one color per jar

Equipment

  • 16-Ounce Mason Jar with Lid (one for each color of Skittles, if desired)
  • Dry Measuring Cup
  • Cheesecloth or Similar, for straining

Instructions

  • This recipe is to make one jar of Skittles vodka and you should separate the five colors because if you put all the colors in one jar, the resulting color is hideous. So, if you would like a jar of each color, you will need to repeat this recipe for each color and jar.
  • Place your skittles in the jar and pour the vodka over the top.
  • Place the lid on top of the jar, firmly, and store inside the fridge for about 5 days, turning the jars upside down about halfway through, and turning them right side up the day before they’re finished.
  • Once they’re ready, pour each jar through a cheesecloth or similar item, for straining, to remove any unwanted debris from the remaining Skittles pieces. Enjoy!

Notes

Keep stored inside the jar, with the lid, inside the fridge, for up to 1 month. This will not freeze. Do not store outside the fridge or it will alter the taste of the drink and not for the better.
If you combine more than one color together, the outcome isn’t what you think it will be. Take it from me, it will taste good, but look awful. This is why I separate the colors and only do one color per jar.
You’re welcome to add more or fewer Skittles to each jar, based on your flavor strength preferences.
Using a quality vodka will result in a better outcome. Using cheap vodka with a terrible flavor will result in a terrible outcome. In other words, the vodka you choose makes all the difference in the quality of the final product.
Shake before each use for best results.
