- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 pound pecan halves
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl add the egg white and water. Whisk together until combined and foamy.
Throw in the pecan halves and coat completely in the mixture. Set aside
In a separate bowl mix together the white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt until combined.
Pour on top of the coated pecans, and toss together until each pecan is thoroughly coated.
Pour onto the prepared baking sheet and spread the pecans evenly.
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until the pecans are crunchy and the coating lightens. Stir the pecans halfway through the baking time, to ensure they roast evenly.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.
Enjoy while still warm or allow to cool completely and store for later!
