Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Large round plate
  • Food picks or skewers
  • 3 Toothpicks (broken in half)

Ingredients

  • 1 pear cut in half (turkey body)
  • 10 red grapes
  • ¼ cantaloupe cut into 1-inch cubes, plus a small triangle for the nose
  • 4 strawberries halved
  • 2 candy eyeballs

Instructions

  • Prep the fruit – Slice the pear in half lengthwise to create the turkey body. Cut cantaloupe into 1-inch cubes and slice strawberries in half. Save a tiny triangle of cantaloupe for the turkey’s beak.
  • Assemble the skewers – Layer fruit on each skewer: strawberry half, cantaloupe cube, grape. Repeat until you have enough skewers to form the turkey feathers.
  • Build the turkey – Place the pear half on a large plate. Starting at the top, gently push the skewers into the pear, fanning them out to resemble turkey feathers.
  • Add the feet – Use two half-toothpicks to attach grapes to the bottom of the pear for the turkey’s feet.
  • Add the face – Insert a half-toothpick into the pear and attach the cantaloupe triangle as the turkey’s nose. Place candy eyeballs above the nose. A dab of peanut butter or cream cheese can help them stick.
  • Serve – Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

Tips & Variations:
  • Use firm fruit so the skewers hold up better.
  • Prep skewers in advance and assemble on the pear just before serving.
  • Swap fruits for pineapple, kiwi, or melon for extra color.
  • Let kids help—this is a fun holiday craft as well as a snack!
