Grinch Krispies

Equipment

  • Measuring cup
  • Large saucepan
  • Silicone spatula
  • 9x13 inch pan
  • Large cutting board
  • Butcher knife

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 9 drops Green food coloring
  • Red candy hearts and/or sprinkles in 3 various sizes - 20 large, 40 medium, 1 tbsp of small sprinkle hearts

Instructions

  • 1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat.
  • Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  • Stir in food coloring and remove from heat.
  • Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated, and if needed add a few more drops of food coloring.
  • Using buttered spatula, evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Add 20 large hearts evenly spaced (4 across and 5 down), then add two medium hearts around the big heart, and sprinkle the tiny heart sprinkles all around.
  • Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to make cutting easier.
  • Cut into even squares, and enjoy!
