How to Make Shamrock Pretzel Pops

Step 1. Get your baking sheets and line them both with parchment paper.

Step 2. Now it is time to melt your candy melts. Put them into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each heating session, until fully melted. Keep an eye on them, as you don’t want them to burn.

Step 3. Add a small circle of melted candy near the top corner of the parchment paper, place a lollipop stick in the center, and then arrange 3 pretzels to form a shamrock shape. You can then repeat this process until you have filled both baking sheets.

Step 4. Pop the baking sheets into the freezer and leave them there for five minutes. This is so the candy can set.

Step 5. Now dip the pops into the melted candy, coating the entire pretzels so that they are covered.

Tips & Tricks

  • Don’t melt the chocolate for too long, as it can burn and give a bitter taste.
  • The parchment paper is essential to stop the candy from sticking to the baking sheet. It all stops things from getting too messy.
  • Freezing them speeds up the process, but you could add them to the fridge if you prefer. You could also let them set at room temperature, although it will take longer for them to set before you can move on to the next step.
  • These can be made ahead of time. Just make sure you store them correctly until you need them.

Variations

  • Can’t get hold of green candy melts? Don’t worry. You could use white chocolate and some green food coloring to get the same appearance, and they will still taste delicious.
  • You could use more than three pretzels and create a flower shape. Then use different color melts or use the white chocolate method suggested above.
  • Add some green edible glitter to the shamrock pretzel pops to make them stand out.
  • You could use any sort of decorations. Green gummy sweets would work well as well as some chocolate chips.
  • Melt some milk chocolate and shape the pretzels in the shape of a heart, and use some red sprinkles or candies to make these Valentine’s themed.

How should I serve the St Patrick’s Day Shamrock Pretzel Pops?

These Shamrock Pretzel Pops are a fun idea for St. Patrick’s day and a simple, tasty treat for a party or a special occasion! You can serve them on their own as a nice sweet treat after school or while settling down to watch something on TV or as part of a wider buffet that you are serving to the family or friends.

How do I store the St Patrick’s Day Shamrock Pretzel Pops?

Shamrock Pretzel Pops can be enjoyed right after you make them once they have had time to set, but if you’d like to save some for another day, they can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.

Can you make this dairy-free?

Yes, you can. If you or anyone you know struggles with dairy allergies, then you may want to substitute chocolate for a dairy-free alternative. Pretzels are naturally dairy free, so it is just the candy melts or chocolate you need to substitute. This is a snack that anyone can enjoy.
