5 Fun Disney Experiences You Don’t Need a Park Ticket To Enjoy

So, you want the Disney experience, but your wallet isn’t too happy about it. We’ve all been there.

While Disney is a beautiful place to visit, it’s also extremely costly. Everyone wants an excellent Disney experience for you and the kids, but what if you can’t afford to have one?

Don’t worry! Today, I’m discussing some fun Disney experiences you can take part in without even having to buy park tickets! I’d love to hear from you if I’ve left anything off my list.

These are some incredible experiences that are full of Disney spirit that you don’t actually need a park ticket for!

If you want to take in the Firework shows, but can’t afford to watch them from Main street USA, head on over to the fourth floor at the Contemporary resort.

They play the music through the hotel’s speakers so you won’t be missing out of the magic. You also won’t be crammed together watching them with a bunch of people. If you get to the hotel early enough, you might even catch the Electric Water Pageant!

Take in the Disney Cuisine

Did you know that many of the Disney retardants are like a show themselves?

In fact, some of the best-rated dining at Disney is outside of the parks.

How does pulled pork and pineapple-coconut bread sound? You can get all this and a show when you visit the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Village Resort!

I also highly recommend the Hoop-De-Doo review. The Hoop-De-Doo is a fun, and hilarious show served up with some delicious fried chicken!

Go shopping in Disney Springs

Disney Springs is one of the best places you’ll want to go when you don’t want to buy a theme park ticket. The Springs has a ton of delicious restaurants and shops for you to visit.

Also, if you’re cutting costs, there are some Disney outlets nearby. You’ll get the whole Disney shopping experience but at a fraction of the cost! What could be better?

Pin Trading

You don’t have to be inside a Disney park to get some major pin trading accomplished.

In fact, each cast member that works for Disney will generally have a lot of pins you can pick from. All you have to do is tell them you want to trade one of your pins for theirs and then you’ll get to choose which one you want.

This is a fun activity that the kids are going to love! And the cast members definitely embody the Disney spirit!

Enjoy a Sweet Treat

Have you ever seen those Minnie and Mickey-shaped ice cream bars and sandwiches? Those aren’t just sold in the parks.

They are also available at many of the quick service options and restaurants outside of the parks. Make sure to check out Goofy’s candy company and the Candy Cauldron for treats like chocolate covered apples and marshmallow Krispies!

Your kids won’t be able to resist!

There are so many things you can take part in when you’re looking to save money with a Disney experience! Disney really created a world that you can walk through, but you don’t always have to pay to get everything out of your trip.

All you have to do is get a little creative and enjoy parts of Disney that most people overlook every day. You’ll likely be able to avoid crowds while saving yourself a ton of money in the process!

What your Blog Needs to Attract more Readers

Do you wish you had more readers on your blog?

Are you tired of having your daily traffic numbers in the low fifties on a good day?

If I just described you, there still might some things you can do for your blog.

Here are a few things your blog needs to attract more readers.

Optimize your content for SEO

After you have written a blog post, the next step is to make sure your site is optimized for SEO.

Start by doing a keyword search or use a keyword research tool to decide which keyword you are trying to rank for, and then spend a little time optimizing your post.

Post your content on social media

If you are not posting your new blog posts on social media, you are missing a chance for free advertising!

Use Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and any other social media platform you can to share your new blog posts when they go live.

After your posts have been published, repost them often to continue getting traffic to your posts.

Make your content easy to share

If a reader has read through your content and wanted to save it for later, or share it with a friend, the best thing you can do is make it easy for them.

To do this, make sure you have share buttons readily available for your readers to use when they come to your site.

Add subheadings and featured images

When preparing your blog posts, be sure to add a featured image and subheadings to each of your blog posts. This will accomplish two tasks.

First, it will make your blog post look more attractive to your readers and encourage them to read more about your content.

Second, subheadings will allow your readers to quickly scroll through the article if they are short on time, or get a glimpse of what they might be reading.

Tell your friends, fans, and followers

Once you’ve hit publish, you should be telling your grandmother, best friend, and even your followers about it!

If you have an email list, send them a quick update letting them know a new post is live.

Tell your friends and family members about your new blog post and encourage them to stop by.

Let your regular viewers know when a new post is live by encouraging them to subscribe so they don’t miss updates.

Share in groups

There are dozens of Facebook groups that allow self-promotion. This means you have a unique opportunity to not only share your blog post with other business owners but potentially reach out to new readers.

Join Facebook groups that relate to your topic, and make sure self-promotion is allowed, and share your expertise!

For example, if you blog about saving money and living frugal, join some frugal living groups. If people ask about how to save money at the grocery store, and you have a post on that topic, share it!

[wpsm_divider top=”20px” bottom=”20px” style=”solid”]

No matter how long you been blogging, if you follow these tips, you’ll start seeing an increase in readers before you know it!

3 All-Natural DIY Face Mist Sprays for Healthy, Glowing Skin

If you find that you are uncomfortable during the summer because your face is hot and sweaty, why not give it a little mist?

You can, of course, use a regular water bottle, but that tends to be a little much when you have makeup on, plus it isn’t very soothing.

Another option is to make your own face mist with various natural ingredients and use a fine mist spray bottle.

Here are some DIY options if you want to make a face mist at home.

Aloe and Oils Face Mist

When you are using a face mist in the summer, it is often to soothe hot and red skin if you have been in the hot sun for too long. When you are laying out, it is so soothing to use a face mist with a little aloe in it to soothe your skin.

But of course, this should never replace sunscreen.

For the aloe and oils face mist, you want to use aloe vera gel with distilled water, witch hazel, and essential oils. Use soothing oils like tea tree oil and lavender, or go with something that helps burning skin, like peppermint or frankincense.

Rose Water Face Mist

This rose face mist is perfect to use at any time, whether with burning summer skin, or just when you want a little soothing mist on your face.

For the rose face mist, use some rose water instead of regular distilled water. You can make your own rose water or get pure rose water you find elsewhere.

To turn it into a face mist, add some coconut water and essential oils like geranium or rose.

Remember to use a spray bottle with a fine mist sprayer.

Lavender and Mint Face Mist

This is a really great combination for a face mist you use in the summer.

The mint is cooling and fresh, while the lavender can soothe your skin. Whether you have a light sunburn, rosacea that is flaring up, or hot skin from laying out on the beach all day, you will love this face mist.

You want to use distilled water with some lavender essential oil, peppermint essential oil, and some slices of cucumber. Add the ingredients to the fine mist spray bottle.

Using these as a guide, try out your own combinations of water, oil, and herbs to create a custom face mist.

Now if you have any questions about making your own face mist sprays, feel free to ask me in the comments down below!

The Ultimate Guide to Disney Resorts on a Budget

If you’re looking to stay at a Disney resort, but you don’t want to break the bank, then this post is for you!

Today, we’re talking about some of the best resorts to stay at when you’re visiting Disney World.

The hotels I’m going to be talking about are some of the value resorts on the Disney site, but they are just as immersive and fun!

So, here’s the ultimate guide to Disney resorts on a budget!

All-star music resort

If you’re a music lover, then you’ll love this resort!

This hotel is centered around some of the best music ever made! There are massive sculptures of guitars and jukeboxes that are sure to excite the kids!

Their musical sections of the hotel campus include Jazz inn, Calypso, Country Fair, Broadways Hotel, and Country Fair.

There are over sixteen hundred rooms, and two hundred and six of those are family suites, so there’s plenty of room for you and the whole family!

What’s even better than that? This resort is ranked as one of the most inexpensive of the Disney resorts. Their rates are very low, and you get a lot for your money!

Some of the features you’ll want to check out are the enormous guitar-shaped pool and the music-themed food court.

I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is interested in musical history and wants to save money in the process.

All-star movies resort

This resort is similar to the All-star music resort in that it is themed. This theme, as you’ve probably guessed, centers around some of the more classic and best movies out there!

Your kids will love the massive Disney characters, and you’re sure to capture some great pictures! Some of the films you’ll see around are 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, and Herbie: The love bug. Some of these characters even measure to forty feet tall!

Talk about an excellent Disney experience! Trust me; your kids won’t want to leave. And neither will you with the fantastic prices they have in store!

Do keep in mind that this is the last stop on the bus route. So, if you have some impatient or tired little ones, this may not be the place for you.

However, it distinctly has that Disney charm, so it’s really a fantastic vacation stay option.

All-star sports resort

You guessed it; this is a sports-themed hotel! Just like the all star movies and music resorts, this hotel is heavily themed. For anyone who loves tennis, basketball, football, or literally any other sport, this is your best bet!

This is also a resort that has very low prices so you won’t be disappointed.

You’ll want to visit the giant football helmets to get some good pictures!

Pop century resort

Relive all the best times in history when you visit the Pop Century resort at Disney!

You’ll be immersed in history from the 1950’s all the way until the 1990’s. This hotel will have all the memories of 80’s hair days and 70’s rock coming back to you!

This is a fun resort for anyone who is looking to relive a little of the past! They also have some fantastic “pop” shopping and dining options!

Make sure to take advantage of their discounted offers!

The campground at fort wilderness

Does your family love the outdoors? If you’re a happy camper, this is the perfect resort option for you!

This option gets you among the great outdoors for some meager prices!

If you’re interested in a real authentic camping experience but want to stay close to civilization, this is the perfect choice for you and your family!

Art of animation resort

This resort is the newest of the “value resorts” on the Disney property.

In fact, the Art of Animation resort is known as a “value plus” resort because it offers a little more luxury than some of their other value hotels.

You’ll want to play in the big pool because it’s the largest of all the Disney pools! Your kids will be stunned by the size!

There are Little Mermaid, Cars, Finding Nemo, and Lion King themed rooms, so you’ll have your choice of experience!

In my opinion, all of them are phenomenal and worth the heavily discounted price!

Definitely go with a value resort if you’re looking to cut costs. Also, don’t be afraid to visit other resorts while you’re in the area! It’s a great way to get out and get the full Disney experience!

Guilt-Free Doughnuts You Can Enjoy: DIY Doughnut Bath Bombs

I made Doughnuts!!

Yes, my family was all over these until they realised that they weren’t the edible kind and were in fact bath bombs (sorry to disappoint, guys).

But I am definitely going to enjoy soaking in my bath tonight with one of these.

Are you ready to make your own doughnut bath bombs, ok then, grab what you need and let’s get started?

1. In a large bowl, mix together the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and epsom salts.  (I found some lavender epsom salts! Double dose of lavender – yay!)

2. If you are doing different colors of doughnuts – divide your mixture up.

3. Add coloring slowly.  You don’t want it to fizz!

4. Pour in melted coconut oil and add your lavender essential oils.  Mix well.

[wpsm_column size=”one-half”]

[wpsm_column size=”one-half” position=”last”]

5. In a spray bottle, add witch hazel.  Lightly mist a few times until it will hold it’s shape.  Go sparingly with the witch hazel – you won’t need much!

6. Lightly spray your doughnut pan with non-stick spray.  Press your mixture into the mold and allow to sit overnight.  (If you don’t have overnight, letting them sit for several hours should do the trick as well!)

7. In a bowl, melt some goat’s milk soap base according to package instructions.

8. Dip the top of the doughnut into the soap and set it to dry.  It won’t take long!

9. Redip your doughnuts again and immediately add sprinkles.  We used rainbow sprinkles. Let them sit until dry and fully set.  It shouldn’t take longer than 10-15 minutes.

If you like making bath bombs go check out these other bath bomb recipes too.

5 Marriage Problems That Every Marriage Can Face But Are Easily Fixable

I am sure when you got married or announced your engagement, you had family and friends give you advice. I am sure along with the advice you were told a time or two about how marriage is hard, and it takes work.

Each marriage will face challenges along the way. No matter how compatible you are.

It is our choice to allow those issues to help us grow and work to overcome them or toss in the towel and walk away.

When you get married it is for better or worse, so prepare yourself for the bumps along the way, and learn what challenges that every marriage will face at some point, and how to work through it.

Learning Communication

Probably one of the most significant issues is learning to communicate with each other. You might think how hard it is to talk to each other, but there is more to it.

You have to learn to communicate in healthy ways and express your feelings, praise your spouse, and more. When you have poor communication in the relationship, it can take a toll on a marriage. You have to remember the right ways to talk to your spouse, so they hear you, understand what you are saying, and don’t feel like they are being attacked.

How do you learn to communicate properly? Sit down and talk, read a book that shares the right way to disagree, or even speak with a counselor.

Addressing issues as they happen healthily really helps you not build up and blow up later.

Before you get married, you most often sit down with a pastor, priest, or whoever and take a course to see if this is what you both want. In that they cover finances. Make sure you know the debt you are marrying into, if your spouse likes to save or spend money, etc.

Most marriages will fight over money but if you can work out a system of your finances early on it will save you tons of stress later.

Quality Time

Being in a relationship is pretty easy when you first start dating, your in that puppy love phase where every second you want to be together. But as you are together longer and get married spending time together might lessen.

For one or both people in the relationship, this can cause issues when you feel you are getting neglected or don’t get that quality time.

Do your best to always treat your spouse like you are dating them in a sense. Where you go out of your way to make time for each other, compliment one-another and so on.

Respect and Appreciation

Make sure that in all areas you show that you appreciate your spouse for the work they put into action, and your marriage and offer respect.

When someone feels disrespected, their guard goes up. They feel attacked and under-valued. You don’t want your spouse to feel that way, so try to tell them you appreciate them and show support in all areas of their life.

Even when you fight, do it in a respectful way where you don’t break down their character.

Focus Shifts

Once you have kids, it can change your marriage. A lot of times you will hear that the other significant other feels left out or notices a massive change in focus. This can be because you are caring for a newborn, a job takes most of your time, etc.

Be aware of your partner feels like there is a huge focus shift and they don’t fit in.

This can be hard and even ruin a marriage. You never want your partner to feel like you don’t need them.

Other Areas Of Marital Problems You Might Face

  • Technology

Meal Prep for Health and Fitness

Are you putting your health and fitness in jeopardy by failing to set workout times or plan healthy meals? Why not plan ahead? Schedule workouts in your calendar and meal prep for health are both simple tasks that can keep you moving towards your health and fitness goals.

Benjamin Franklin said it best when he said,

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

He probably wasn’t thinking about “meal prep” when he said it, but it’s a good blanket statement about many things in our lives. By failing to properly prepare when beginning a fitness program, you’re almost ensuring failure.

It becomes overwhelming to think about balanced meals – the shopping and cooking involved on a day to day basis prevent many with good intentions from following through with their plans.

The kitchen is your main place to begin a diet plan to help you become fit and enjoy health throughout the years. In the kitchen, you can control portions for days or weeks to come and prepare foods to help you lose fat and build muscle.

The more you plan your meals and snacks ahead, the better results you’ll get from your fitness and health plan. Without pre-planning, you may skip essential meals to keep you energetic and focused.

You may also tend to crave foods you shouldn’t have. Fewer food choices mean that you’ll eat healthier and be more satisfied during the daytime hours because you planned ahead to ensure you’re receiving the proper nutrition and enough fuel to keep your body and mind working at full blast.

Splurging on unhealthy foods such as fast-food drive-through options is one reason people become obese and develop health problems such as diabetes and heart disease.

When you control your eating environment and routine, you’ll still be eating without having to think about it – but you’ll be eating much healthier foods. Planning for a carb, a protein and fat for each meal is a good way to help transition your body from flabby to fit.

Plan your meals and snacks carefully by sitting down each week and jotting down ingredients for recipes and items you’ll need at the grocery store. Then, set aside time to cook and prepare for the meals.

After the food is cooked (or prepared to cook), divide it into portions that fit your diet and health routine. Knowing what you’ll be consuming on a day to day basis means that you don’t have to concentrate each day on what you’ll need to shop for and prepare.

Not only will you save time and cut calories – but you’ll also save money because you’re not “impulse” eating. Impulse eating can lead to bad habits that are difficult to break and that will set you up for diet and fitness failure.

Healthy Cooking Hacks That’ll Actually Improve Your Health

If you’re trying to improve your health, one of the first things you can do is improve the way you cook your food. But when people talk about healthy cooking, it can sound a little intimidating and a little less than delicious.

But healthy cooking doesn’t have to be difficult or boring. There are plenty of healthy cooking tips and hacks that can improve your habits.

And down below are a few small changes that can make a big difference in the health of you and your family.

Once you get used to doing things a different way, it will become simple and easy. So check them out and let me know what you think!

Forgo Deep Frying

One of the easiest ways to lower the fat content of your food and boost your heart health is to skip frying foods. When you fry foods, you add a large amount of oil to your food. While fat is something that your body needs, it doesn’t need it in such high amounts.

Fat is full of extra calories, so the oil you’re adding to your food will sneak in many extra calories you don’t need if you’re working to eat healthily. In addition, most oils used for frying are not the healthiest kind for your heart.

Instead of deep frying your foods, there are a few different ways you can cook them. If you’ve never tried cooking with these methods, you’ll have to experiment to see which one works best for you.

One of the healthiest ways to cook is to use your grill. There are several different types of grills. If you prefer to use outdoor grills, you can use charcoal or propane. Gas grilling is quicker but doesn’t have the same flavor.

Grilling can also be done indoors. There are many indoor grill models available for purchase. Indoor grills won’t give you the smoky flavor that you get from outdoor grills. However, they help you to eliminate extra fat from cooking and allow you to cook foods quickly.

Baking and Broiling

Using your oven is another option. Old fashioned baking and broiling produces delicious food without having to add excess fat. Baking is the process of cooking your food evenly. When you broil food, you use only the top element of your oven.

With baking, you get a constant temperature in the oven and your oven will cut off and on to keep that steady temperature. With broiling, the top element will stay on constantly. This can produce the same type of effect as grilling your food.

Broiling works well for cooking steaks and other types of meat. You’ll have to turn the pieces of meat over in order to get consistent cooking on both sides. You’ll also need a broiler pan that allows fat to drip through to the bottom away from your food.

Pan Frying

You can sauté your food in a pan as well. This is a type of frying, but you don’t need as much oil as you do with deep frying. For this type of frying, you can usually use one or two tablespoons of oil as opposed to a quart of it.

You can also use the most heart-healthy oils with pan frying. You’ll want to use oils that are monounsaturated. These oils actually help you to lower your cholesterol. Extra virgin olive oil is generally the best choice for heart health.

Steaming is another powerful way to cook. This is especially good for cooking vegetables. You can purchase a special steamer that plugs into the wall or you can actually convert a pan into a steamer by inserting a special steaming basket.

With steaming, you’ll add a little water to the pan, then add the steaming basket. You’ll place your veggies on top of the basket. The water won’t actually cover the vegetables at all. You’ll then need to put a lid on the pot.

As you heat the water at the bottom of the pan, it creates steam that will surround the food and cook it. Steaming doesn’t take a long time and it’s one of the best ways you can cook to preserve the nutrients in your food.

Slow Cooker

One of the greatest tools you can purchase for your kitchen is a slow cooker. This is a healthy way to cook and can really be a timesaver in your life. With slow cookers, you can add ingredients to the pot, set the temperature, and then walk away for hours.

This is especially helpful if you have a job outside of your home or just a very busy schedule. You can put healthy foods on to cook but then you can continue with your activities knowing that you’ll have a great meal for dinner.

The biggest complaint people have about slow cookers tends to be the cleanup. However, there are liners now you can place inside your slow cooker that makes cleaning it much easier. You simply throw them away when you’re done.

Choosing Healthy Fats and Substitutions

Many times when people begin to work to cook and eat healthy foods, they try to eliminate fats from their diet. However, your body needs fats in order to function properly. You’ll need to understand the difference between healthy fats and unhealthy fats.

Unhealthy fats are those that are saturated. Saturated fats are solid at room temperature. You find these fats in meats and dairy products. You also find them in lard. These are the fats that can clog your arteries and cause you to have heart problems.

Unsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature. They’re healthier for the body and actually contribute to good heart health – especially monounsaturated fats. These fats come from plant sources. Some foods where you can find healthy fats include:

· Olive oil, safflower oil, soybean oil
· Flaxseed oil (can be added to food, but not used to cook)
· Avocados
· Bananas
· Nuts – almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc.

When you’re cooking, you’ll want to use these types of fats as much as possible. Adding nuts or avocado to a dish can boost the heart-healthy fats. And they also add delicious flavor and boost the excitement of healthy meals.

When you’re baking, you can also make substitutions for fats. For example, if a cake or brownie recipe calls for oil you can substitute applesauce or carrot puree. These will give the same texture and moisture without the fat.

If you’re not ready to go completely away from the oil, try substituting half of the oil for applesauce. This will give you the best of both worlds. In many recipes, the oil can be cut in half without significantly changing the texture. You may want to experiment with our favorite recipes.

Eliminate Excess Sugars

Sugars are another area where people tend to have too much of a good thing. You need to have sugars in order for your brain to work. But the types of sugar that you eat can make a difference. Eliminating processed sugars can boost your healthy cooking.

Ingredients such as white granulated sugar, brown sugar, and powdered sugar can be tasty but aren’t great choices for cooking healthy foods. Instead, you can try to have sweetness with more natural ingredients.

Honey and molasses are natural sources of sugar. Raw cane sugar is also a natural source of sugar. While these choices are natural and less processed than other types of sugar, you’ll still want to use them in limited quantities. A little goes a long way.

Even better is to get your sources of sweetness from fruits. They naturally contain sugar that can satisfy your sweet tooth while still delivering nutrients to your body. The sugar you get from strawberries, apples, or grapes provides satisfying sweetness and also delivers fiber and vitamins.

Try Stevia as an alternative to sugar.Try Stevia as an alternative to sugar.Find out more…In addition to getting sugar from sweet foods, many people get a lot of sugar from the drinks they consume. Sugary sodas, sweet teas, and juices can give you a lot of calories without giving much in the way of nutrition. This is a great place to start eliminating sugars from your life.

Switch to water with lime or herbal teas that are flavored naturally. If you want to add sweetness, try a natural sweetener such as stevia to add that punch. Other calorie-free sweeteners can be less healthy.

There are many dessert options using fruits and other healthy ingredients that can help you to get the sweetness you crave without sacrificing your health. As you eliminate sugar, you’ll get to a point where you really don’t crave it as much.

Lowering Your Sodium

Another considering with healthy cooking is lowering the amount of sodium, or salt, in your diet. Salt can cause problems with high blood pressure and bloating. While you need some salt in your diet for good health, most people get too much.

When shopping for ingredients, look for items labeled as “low sodium” or “sodium free.” This way you can control how much salt you add to your meals. When you do use salt, choose natural sea salt.

Add Flavor

For many people, the idea of healthy cooking is synonymous with bland food. But if you’re going to cook healthy it’s critical that you enjoy what you’re eating. Otherwise, you won’t be able to adopt these techniques long-term.

It’s important to make sure that while you’re eliminating unhealthy fats and sugars that you don’t forget to add flavor. Natural spices and herbs can be the best way to enhance the flavor of your food and can boost your health, too.

If you haven’t used many spices before, now is the time to add spice to your life. The following spices are critical to have in your pantry as you make the switch to healthy cooking:

· Cinnamon
· Garlic
· Pepper (black, red, white, cayenne)
· Nutmeg
· Paprika
· Salt-free seasoning
· Italian seasoning
· Basil

As you continue to cook, you’ll add more and more spices to your supply. But these are general spices that can get you started. You’ll also want to consider keeping fresh herbs on hand. Growing your own is the least expensive way to enjoy them.

As the season begins to end, you can chop up your herbs and freeze them in ice cube trays. This way you can continue to enjoy them year round. Some great herbs to get started with include the following:

· Parley
· Oregano
· Thyme
· Sage
· Cilantro
· Basil
· Rosemary

Adding fresh spices will make any dish more flavorful. Remember that healthy cooking doesn’t have to be boring and bland. The more flavor you add, the more you’ll enjoy what you’re eating.

If you enjoy the food you eat when cooking healthy, you’ll be more likely to make a long-term change.

If you’re not familiar with cooking healthy, it can take some time to adjust. But as you add a new technique you’ll find that it can be easy and rewarding.

As you cook more and more, you’ll begin to feel comfortable with experimenting with recipes – and unleashing your inner chef can also be a lot of fun.

Best Games and Toys for Children with Autism

When it comes to buying toys for children with autism, make sure to focus on toys that will stimulate their senses.

Because most kids with autism have sensory problems, they have to be introduced to tangible things in a non-threatening way and in such a way that they can understand and remember.

Kids with autism sometimes have a difficult time with social interactions. Board games are an excellent way to teach children about sharing, taking turns, and listening to others.

Give Me 5 is a board game with eight different categories for social skills. The categories are targeted to help kids learn about themselves and each other. For example, some of the categories include calming emotions, the big picture, what others are thinking and self-presentation.

The game uses role-playing and visual cues to analyze social scenarios that kids may come across, or have already come across. The game is intended for ages eight and up.

You can also check out construction sets or LEGO blocks that allow kids to build houses, buildings and more. There are sets where a child can build a castle or airplane.

Building things help a child learn to work with instructions and directions to get the desired result. A lot of kids with autism have a hard time following verbal instructions so learning to work on building something can help increase the child’s awareness of needing to follow directions.

A lot of kids with autism have difficulty learning words for senses. 3D Feel and Find by Guide Craft is a great toy for those who have problems with the senses, particularly the touch sense.

Guidecraft 3D Feel & Find Icons, Shape and Tile Matching Toy for Kids, Learning & Educational Toys

Feel and Find comes with twenty multi-colored wooden blocks that are shapes, people, or animals as well as the wooden panels that match them. With Feel and Find, the multi-colored blocks are put in a bag and your child pulls out one of the shapes and matches it with a wooden shape.

Being able to identify a shape by the feel rather than by sight of it will help your child learn and memorize what they are.

Another great toy to use is Melissa and Doug’s sandwich stacking gameThis can be played alone or with a partner.

Melissa & Doug Sandwich Stacking Action Games - 10 Games, 4 Bread Slice Gloves, 14 Fillings

The game comes with twenty cards and fourteen sandwich fillings along with four slices of bread. The bread is designed to be used as gloves, but they don’t have to be worn if the child doesn’t want to.

The child looks at a card that has a sandwich designed on it and then uses the picture on the card to design a sandwich of his or her own. The child can design the sandwiches on his own or two children can race each other to get their sandwich done first.

Benefits of Hula Hooping – Fitness & Fun

When you think of workout equipment, you likely think of yoga blocks or kettlebells.

One thing you probably do not think about is the use of a hula hoop.

The misconception is that a hula hoop is a children’s toy and has no place in working out.

The truth is, it can be a very effective tool for working out and has some really great benefits.

Here are a few of those benefits.

Calorie Burn

One of the first things you will notice when you start hula hooping is the calorie burn.

On average, you will burn between 200 and 300 calories with traditional gym exercises and routines. With hula hooping, you can burn 600 calories per hour. That is a huge calorie burn and advantage for someone who is trying to drop a large amount of unwanted weight through burning more calories than you take in.

Full Body Workout

If you are looking for a full body workout with limited equipment then hula hooping may be ideal. The hula hoop can give you a full body workout as well as fit into your current body resistance routine.

For example, you can do lunges while you work your arms with the hoop. You can also do balancing and some yoga poses while incorporating the hula hoop. You can work your abs, arms, shoulders, legs, and core as well. It is all in how you use the routines and hula hoop options.

Keep in mind, there are tons of hula hooping options and methods so you will not be limited to just a few.

Spine and Back Health

If you have spine and back issues, one of the things you will likely be told to work on is your posture. Well, it just so happens that you have to have excellent posture while using a hula hoop. This is true for most any of the methods you have to use to hold up the hoop or use it properly.

You must keep your back straight and spine straight which means building the strength of the muscles. In fact, if you are looking for a way to do these things, but you want to make sure that you are not causing more strain, then this may be ideal.

These are the benefits that anyone starting out using a hula hoop for fitness will start to see. As you get deeper into using a hula hoop for fitness, you will start seeing more and more benefits.

How Long Should Your Blog Posts Be?

Every few months we get some new advice from a blogging guru saying that our blog posts need to be longer, or shorter, or that they should be broken up into 10 pages of bite-sized chunks… it can make you crazy.

Let’s talk about this.

How long should your blog posts really be?

It would be great if there was a magic number that guaranteed best results, wouldn’t it? But that’s like asking someone to tell you how long your conversations with other people should be.

Sometimes it’s nothing more than a few words or sentences; sometimes you have a nice long talk.

It all depends on how much you have to say to each other, doesn’t it?

The same approach works well with your blog posts. Sometimes you’re sharing just a quick tip or a recipe for example. In that case, something around 200 to 300 words will do just fine. Add a pretty picture and call it good.

Other times you want to go into a little more depth. You want to cover different aspects of a topic, share some examples and give your readers as much information as you can.

In those cases make it as long as you need to make it.

Long posts are great. They help establish your authority and if the content is great, they are often shared on social media. Plus long posts give the search engines a lot of text to sift through and give you more chances to rank for long tail keywords.

The best advice is to mix longer and shorter blog posts.

when you write your post, make it as long as it needs to be

It will make your blog seem more natural and organic. Don’t force yourself to reach a certain magic word count if you don’t have that much to say on a topic. Keep it short and to the point.

Your readers will thank you.

If on the other hand, you have a lot to share in a different post, go for it. Break the longer content up into small paragraphs and help your readers stay on track with subheadings and bullet points. Make it easy to scan longer posts so your readers can get an idea of what the content is about before they commit to reading it all.

And if you’re finding yourself writing a few thousand words, consider breaking it up into a series of blog posts instead. It will help both you and your readers from getting overwhelmed with one long post. Link from one part of the series to the next to make it easy for your blog readers to follow along.

Above all, enjoy the process of writing and pay attention to what your readers prefer.

If your short posts tend to do better, consider keeping your posts short and to the point. If you’re getting a lot more engagement and social media shares on longer posts, combine a few of the shorter blog post ideas into a longer one.

And whatever you do, don’t get hung up on a number of words.
